"maji yabesu yo." Just as gal game otakus from Akiba-k have "moetsubo [sprouting pot, "the fatal spot
which make me excited".]," game music fans in their 30's also have "moetsubo [burning pot]." I thought about this today when I listened to this album.
Lost Child Original Sound Track from S.S.H. Side-A
I impulsively bought this album based on the jacket cover alone from the CD shop just a few days ago. However, I can't say there have been many instances in my life, especially in recent years, where I've hit the jackpot like this. This already, is incredible.
As far as genre goes, shall we call this, "heavy metal-based fusion," perhaps? The guitars roar, the drums blast, the synthesizers choke you with tears. The synchs sort of come at you one after another, harmonizing cleanly with this rising, antiquated elegance. Although I didn't really know what this game called "Lost Child" was about, I realized keenly that I'm a total sucker for music of this construction. Yeah, like the compulsion to blow a bloody nose. Or how young people these days say, "yabeyo [means "seriously dangerous"],"when they eat something delicious. I think I've come to understand this expression. In this way, my taste is pinpointed by, rather something recollected with a sense of crisis even. Yeah, this is "maji yabesu yo." (Heh heh.)
You who loved the Kukeiha Club arrange of the eighties. You who also dearly loved Thunder Force IV, V. Without another thought, buy this album and listen. It falls into "moetsubo" 100% guaranteed. For those of you without a single ping of such interest, go here or to the composer's website "Saitama Saishuuheiki [Saitama Ultimate Weapon] (what a name...),"and try listening to an MP3. You have absolutely nothing to lose. No, I STRONGLY urge you. Seriously.
If there's one thing I'm uneasy about, it's whether or not the game itself will actually receive such high-tension sound. (!) After all, doesn't the game appear to be an 18+ adult erotica? It should be alright, I hope. In any case, I plan on giving it a try when the game itself is released. But it's still in production... |
